She argued that she has a minor child and that she has shown good behavior and therefore should not return to prison. She even added that her intention is to leave Crete, as she recognizes that her presence provokes her husband’s family.
So the council decided that this statement shows a moral conversion and invited the 43-year-old to leave Crete and continue living in Athens.
Last November, the Court of Appeal found the 43-year-old guilty not of moral complicity, but of simple complicity, and so, after serving about five years of her sentence, she was released after a few days.
And it is for this part of the case that the prosecutor of Arius has appealed. The possibility that the 43-year-old will be referred to trial again is expected to be decided in October, as reported by the lawyer of the family of the unfortunate cardiologist, K. Bakirtzidou.
