Pavlos Marinakis characterizes as “unacceptable” what happened today in the Parliament, with the beating of the member of the Hellenic Solution, Vassilis Grammenos, by the independent member of parliament, Konstantinos Floros, as well as the “admonition”, as he called it, of Kyriakos Velopoulos to the ND MPs, who voted in favor of the marriage of same-sex couples, not to go to church.

“The acts of violence, the practices of the extremes and the vulgar rhetoric of populism, return us to times that the country has left behind irretrievably and society has generally rejected”, notes, among other things, the government representative.

In detail, Pavlos Marinakis points out in his statement that “what happened in the Parliament today is unacceptable and uncharacteristic and they are not consistent with the Democratic polity. Members of Parliament they turned the Parliament premises into a ring and party leader threatens, indirectly but clearly, MPs, warning them not to go to church on Easter“and adds: “The acts of violence, the practices of the extremes and the vulgar rhetoric of populism, return us to times that the country has left behind irretrievably and society has rejected as a whole. We must, as a political system and as a society, stand up against – and we will continue to do so – all these logics that led the country on the edge of the cliff. We are against violence, against the phenomena of the emasculation of Democracy, against thuggery and threats».
