“The opposition that Mr. Kasselakis is making today is a “divine gift” to Mr. Mitsotakis”

The rapid increase in the cost of living was highlighted by the president of PASOK-Movement of Change, Nikos Androulakis, as a guest on SKAI in the morning, accusing the government of creating a virtual reality.

“I expected the Greek journalists this morning to take this Eurostat table which notes that in Greece the increase in food inflation is more than four times higher than in the European Union – 5.4% in our country, 1.2% in Europe, in March – and ask all the ministers of the New Democracy “why in Greece we have a more than fourfold increase in the rate of inflation?” said the president of PASOK-Change Movement and added: “Today, there are very few controls on the market and the fines too small. If there were a lot of checks with very heavy fines, we wouldn’t have this huge speculation. To put it very simply and popularly: The Mitsotakis government is the joy of the multinationals and the domestic oligarchy”.

He focused his fire on Kyriakos Mitsotakis, saying that if he were prime minister himself, tomorrow morning we would have an honest government. “I say this directly to the prime minister. What is happening today is a disgrace to the public interest. Inequalities are galloping, the NHS is collapsing, the accuracy is the highest in Europe, and it tells us that it has done well” asserted Mr. Androulakis.

He expressed optimism for a big victory for PASOK in the European elections, stating categorically that it will be the second party, a fact that “it will be crucial for our country that New Democracy does not make a “parade”, a “parade” of arrogance, without feeling that it threatens it someone”. He strongly criticized the leader of SYRIZA saying that “the opposition that Mr. Kasselakis is making today is a “divine gift” to Mr. Mitsotakis. The opposition with the houses, with the 2 million euro houses, with the “miracles”, is an escape gift to Mr. Mitsotakis, in contrast to an opposition that puts the issues of accuracy, the cost of housing, the National Health System that is collapsing , in the hands of the New Democracy, and the national issues” pointed out Mr. Androulakis. “I appreciate that the world of the left, the progressive world, is suffocating with this policy. A progressive person cannot accept to have as official opposition leader someone who speaks the language of Velopoulos” he continued.

The president of PASOK-KINAL emphasized that PASOK, if strong, will be the pillar for what happened in the Iberian Peninsula – both in Spain and in Portugal. “With the core of the democratic faction and other forces from the progressive Center who went to New Democracy as well as from the progressive Left, – because there are serious people in SYRIZA and in the New Left, pro-Europeans who can join our forces -, let’s unite our anxieties and that there is a strong opposition to the New Democracy. Today there is an asymmetry in the political system. This asymmetry is exploited by Mr. Mitsotakis because it is convenient for him to pose the question “Mitsotakis or chaos”. If PASOK is second, there will be no “chaos”, there will be a strong, serious opposition that will be the government choice of the progressive world in the next national elections,” he said characteristically of the strategic targeting of PASOK-Movement for Change.

Mr. Androulakis repeated his proposal for holding a debate of political leaders as he claimed that “there are many reasons for someone to vote for PASOK. The first reason is the strong and serious opposition to stop the New Democracy recital of arrogance and contempt for the public interest. Second and very serious reason: PASOK represents the European Socialists. What does this mean; Common financial tools, Euro army, common foreign policy and policies that make Greece strong. Every vote for New Democracy is a vote for the austerity party of the People’s Party, which strengthens the Franco-German axis. This is the vote for New Democracy and that is why Mr. Mitsotakis does not want a debate. I am asking for a debate on the European elections, to discuss national, internal and European issues. New Democracy denies it because it does not want Mr. Mitsotakis to be identified,” he said.

The president of PASOK-Movement of Change accused the government of cunning and bilingualism in matters of foreign policy. “The “witness” Mrs. Christofilopoulou told the reason and motives of Mr. Mitsotakis for the nomination of Beleris.
