From today, Wednesday, April 24, the “Farmer’s Card” is activated until September which will be made available to producers (farmers and breeders), beneficiaries of agricultural subsidies, if they so wish, only with the request of the interested party to the cooperating bank that maintains his account.
Through the “Farmer’s Card” the beneficiary is provided with possibility to make purchases from companies that are included in the categories of those that trade in products related to meeting the agricultural needs of producers (agricultural consumables, such as seeds, drugs, fertilizers, animal feed, veterinary drugs, feed additives, tractor fuel, agricultural electricity, spare parts – agricultural machinery workshop), but also to pay off his debts to certified bodies submitting a Single Aid Declaration.
Through the “Farmer’s Card” is also provided the possibility for producers to pay off their current debts towards ELGA, OGA and the State, costs of issuing and using a work permit, as well as the cost of applying for agricultural aid.
The Minister of Rural Development and Food Lefteris Avgenakis, in his statements, states the following:
“With coordinated actions, this year, faster than last year, we are activating the “Farmer’s Card”, in order for each producer to face the acute problems that have arisen due to the successive crises.
The energy and climate crisis and geostrategic instability are bringing increased production costs to the agricultural world.
We use every possibility to be constantly at the side of the Greek farmer but also to facilitate the production process in the primary sector».
