Saint Elizabeth lived her whole life comforting the distressed and sorrowful

Today, April 24, the Church honors the memory of Saint Elizabeth the Wonderworker.

The birth of Saint Elizabeth was prophesied by an angel of the Lord who revealed to her mother that she would give birth to a daughter who would be distinguished for her Christian work.

And indeed, from an early age, Saint Elizabeth distinguished herself in the ministry of her poor and suffering fellow human beings.

In various ways St. Elizabeth tried to persuade the rich to contribute to the comfort of the weak while she taught, educated, and indoctrinated their children free of charge.

Saint Elizabeth lived her whole life consoling the distressed and saddened and she fell asleep, providing to this day a fairy tale and comfort to those who take refuge in her grace.
