X. Mentizis: “The pet-scan at Alexandroupolis hospital will only work for 3 days from today until May 20”

With his post, Christodoulos Mentizis – SYKNE Member and AMTH Regional Councilor, refers to the pet-scan of the Alexandroupoli Hospital and its operation, which practically does not take place due to a lack of staff.

He writes in detail:

“Shattering example of organization and efficiency in pet-scan
of P.G..N.A…..!

An investment of more than 1 million from the “STAVROS NIARCHOS FOUNDATION” with responsibility from the P.G.N.A. to staff the pet-scan with scientific and other personnel until the start of its operation.

What is happening today….after about 1 year of operation?
The pet-scan (For cancer diagnosis…) therefore operates 2 days a week…with 1 doctor….and another trainee.

From today until MAY 20th it will work for 3 days only…..!!!
The list for the pet-scan is also increased and patients will have to make an appointment in ATHINA or THES/NIKI with a corresponding financial and psychological burden.
We are basically talking about cancer patients…!!!
Are we blameless?

But we can perform (only 1 month after the passing of the relevant Bill “AFTERNOON SURGERY” and in fact in the mornings of S/K…!!!
