The European elections business has already begun for the New Republic and this is proven by today’s Wednesday 24/04/2024, at 12pm, the briefing that will be given to the MPs of Western Greece, Peloponnese and Epirus by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The meeting will be attended by all the elected representatives of Achaia in government (Christina Alexopoulou) and parliament (Andreas Katsaniotis, Jason Fotilas) and will receive instructions and directions for the plan that the ND will follow throughout this period until the June 9 ballot. The big goal is that the ND doesn’t lose a single vote either to dominate all three aforementioned regions and of course and at the level of Achaia.
One more parameter should be noted, however. During the meeting the problem of avoiding appearances of the elect in holy temples during the Holy Week period will be raised, as, as we have noticed recently, there have been incidents and tensions between ministers or parliamentarians who voted for the “marriage” of same-sex couples and believers. In the ruling party they do not wish to further disrupt the upward trend observed in recent polls for the ND and consider that it should be a priority to have discreet appearances by ministers and MPs during the Easter period.
Regarding the coordination of Western Greece ahead of the European elections, we remind you that the responsibility has been assumed by the Minister of Rural Development Lefteris Avgenakiss. At the level of Achaia, yesterday it was confirmed to Peloponnisos FM 104.1 that on May 10, the election center of New Democracy will start operating at the junction of Ermou and Agios Andreou streets, as well as the tours of the DEEP members throughout the prefecture of Achaia. The date of the arrival of Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Patras will be known immediately after Easter, as well as whether it will be a broad tour or a speech on the pedestrian street of Agios Nikolaos. DEEP vice-president Costas Rigopoulos asked all members and friends of the party to be at the front line of the battle.
