In nationwide strike proceed today, Wednesday, the court officials, expressing their opposition to the government’s bill on “reform” of the “judicial map”, which includes the abolition and merger of a number of judicial services. The trade union organizations in the area of Justice (Association of Salaried Lawyers, Association of Court Clerks of Athens, Association of Court Interpreters of Attica, Association of Court Clerks of Administrative Courts of Athens and Association of Juvenile Court Supervisors) call for the strike meeting of the judges with their joint resolution. “We demand the withdrawal of the unacceptable bill submitted to Parliament by the government to reform the judicial map, because it will further worsen the working conditions of those of us who work in the field! Because it is another link in the anti-popular policy that aims to create a Justice system that is even more friendly, efficient and fast for business groups and at the same time more hostile, precise and inaccessible for workers and the popular strata“, they note. They claim measures to deal with the understaffing of judicial services, increase in salaries, improvement of working conditions.
