Today, April 23, 2023, in the early hours of the morning, under unknown circumstances, the motorcycle driven by 25-year-old Antonis Laskaris went off the road, resulting in the driver being hit and fatally injured.
25-year-old Antonis Laskaris was found unconscious at 6:30 in the morning by passing drivers and they immediately notified EKAV and the Police. The rescuers who arrived at the scene took him to the hospital of Rhodes, but everything was too late.
Antonis Laskaris was known to us from the speed races where he participated in the Panhellenic Speed Championship (PPT).
Antonis Laskaris started motorcycle speed races in 2019 in the Panhellenic Speed Championship, in the SS300 category. In his first year he finished in 4th place in the standings, after 6 races and 5 finishes, four in 4the position and one in 5the position!
The following year, in 2020, he changed and went to the Racing category, where he finished in 4th place, in the general classification, participating in only two out of four races, winning 2 podiums with two third places!
In 2021 which was also the last year he competed until their demise, he finished 7th in the Racing category participating in 3 out of 5 races finishing in 4the 5the and 6the position!
The fact of his sudden death plunged into mourning his family, friends, relatives and fellow villagers, but also the world of Greek sports.
