The share prices on the Athens Stock Exchange closed with high profits

Stock prices closed with high gains in today’s Stock Exchange session, with the market approaching the levels of 1,450 units, closing at new highs of the year, but also new highs of 13 years, amidst a positive climate in the European markets as well. The rise in share prices was also accompanied by a significant increase in the value of transactions, while the total market capitalization was slightly lower than 100 billion euros.

At the center of investment interest were banking shares and the title of Titan.

The market has completed five bullish sessions during which the main stock index recorded a total gain of 6.67%, while since the beginning of 2024 it has recorded a gain of 11.96%.

The General Price Index closed today at 1,447.82 points, recording a gain of 1.93%.

It is the highest close since the April 15, 2011 session (1,469.03 points).

The value of the transactions amounted to 160.936 million euros, while 34,257,977 shares were traded.

The large-cap index rose 2.19%, while the mid-cap index gained 1.32%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Titan (+4.61%), Ethniki (+3.99%), Alpha Bank (+3.64%), Eurobank (+3. 36%), Viohalco (+3.04%) and Piraeus (+2.80%).

On the contrary, the largest decline was recorded by the shares of Ellaktor (-1.34%), Autohellas (-0.77%) and Lamda Development (-0.71%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Eurobank and Piraeus, trading 8,811,714 and 8,746,796 shares, respectively.

Piraeus with 34.75 million euros and Mytileneos with 22.63 million euros recorded the highest value of transactions.

80 stocks moved up, 36 fell and 16 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Eliketos +10.00% and Frigoglass +8.28%.

The biggest drop was recorded by the shares: Bitros -10.00% and Mylos Kepenou -5.21%.
