In the capacity of a protected witness, three Olympiacos fans who were in the “Melina Merkouri” stadium when the murderous attack against the MAT police chief, Giorgos Lyggeridis, testified.
In particular, according to what is mentioned in the transmission of EL.AS to the Athens First Instance Prosecutor’s Office, the specific fans provided information regarding the structure, operation and organization of the organized fans of Olympiakos.

Therefore, in order not to fall victim to intimidation or acts of retaliation, they were placed under witness protection status so that their names would not be leaked.
