“The death should definitely be investigated,” testified a nurse

--

In the trial of Roula Pispirigou for the deaths of her children Iris and Malena testified on Tuesday, three nurses.

According to dikastiko.gr, the first to take the witness stand was a nurse who took care of Malena during her hospitalization for leukemia. “Malena was a blonde and lively little girl. He greeted us when we were leaving, he sent us kisses, he was a child with a good clinical picture,” the witness said and added: “I remember from the doctors that the child would have an easy course, when I learned about the child’s death I didn’t believe it. I was discussing with colleagues that the previous day they had ordered souvlaki, the child was happy, we do these like small parties”.

“Particularly detached and collected” Pispirigou

The baton was taken by Alexandra Karelioti, a nurse at Aglaia Kyriakou, who described Roula Pispirigou as “particularly detached and collected”. Regarding Malena, he explained that she had “a classic leukemia with specific drugs that was not difficult from what the doctors told us. It seemed that the child was also happy”.

The nurse reported that on the day Malena passed away, when she was at school she heard the pump going off. “I pressed start again, I didn’t understand the cause of her blockage, I remember having a conversation with mom, I don’t remember what we said, probably something loose.”

In response to the prosecutor’s question about how the child was when she saw him, since she was the last to see him awake, the witness described a “very normal” child, while she did not rule out the possibility that the scratch on his cheek came from the ABU that was placed later.

“I found out about Malena’s death in group chat – I was sure the name was wrong”

The meeting ended with the testimony of the nurse Evangelia Philippa, who saw the child at noon on the day of his death happy and eating a skewer. “I visited him in the room again at 2 o’clock to inform him that the cortisone will be changed. I remember the mother was in the armchair and the child was eating a skewer in bed, I informed about the change and waited for the mother to give the child oral cortisone. I learned about the child’s death from the group chat we have with colleagues. “Malena is gone” he wrote and I was sure that the name was wrong,” testified the witness.

He described Malena’s parents as “shocked” after the child’s death, while ruling out the possibility that his wounds on the child’s face were caused by the oxygen mask. In fact, he ruled out the possibility of Roula Pispirigou looking for doctors for 10 minutes

The witness called “improbable” the defendant’s claim that she spent ten minutes looking for the doctors in the hallway and claimed that she never made a complaint. “A child who does not go away from his leukemia and certainly not from liver failure, the death should definitely be investigated,” said the witness.
