A traffic accident from which miraculously there was no injury took place on the uphill stream of Athens Avenue, at the intersection with Favierou Street in Haidari, as a concrete mixer overturned and fell onto the pavement of the island, destroying the traffic light that is there.
Fortunately, he did not hit another vehicle and there were no pedestrians waiting for the traffic light at the scene. The accident happened shortly before 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, and as seen in a video document, the concrete mixer can be seen turning to the right.
At the moment the driver has taken the turn, an I.X. to overtake and then the concrete mixer overturns, as it tries to change course at the last moment to avoid a collision.

What eyewitnesses said
According to eyewitnesses and colleagues of the driver who spoke to Alpha, the driver trying to cut the steering wheel all the way to the opposite direction to avoid the collision and thus lost weight, as the concrete mixer was loaded with cement weighing 50 tons.
Fortunately, no one was injured by the overturning of the concrete mixer and the two people who were riding in the concrete mixer were transferred for preventive reasons to the Thriasio Hospital, where they were examined and are in good health.
A heavy vehicle roadside assistance crane rushed to the scene and at approximately 8:30 the operation to remove the concrete mixer began. Two large cranes were mobilized and for this reason the police closed two traffic lanes of the Avenue, but part of Favierou Street. Traffic was restored gradually and as xaidarisimera.gr reports, after everything was over after four hours, while a workshop undertook to repair the traffic light.

The Civil Protection of the Municipality of Haidari, with a double effort, cleaned the road surface of the oils that had been spilled. Fortunately, the concrete that the vehicle was carrying did not spill.
