The case file concerns approximately 160 people while 67 have been arrested for the murderous attack on Rentis

The Athens District Attorney’s Office proceeded to prosecute at least 12 felonies and numerous misdemeanors (a total of 28 offenses) against those arrested for the murder of the MAT police officer in Rentis, Giorgos Lyggeridis, as well as a series of other criminal acts.

In particular, criminal prosecution was brought for the following charges:

  • Criminal organization directorate (eight people)
  • Formation and membership of a criminal organization.
  • Homicide during a sporting event.
  • Moral complicity in homicide during a sporting event.
  • Assisting in homicide during a sporting event
  • An explosion that also resulted in the death of another during a sporting event.
  • Moral responsibility in the explosion that resulted in the death of another during a sporting event
  • Contributing to the explosion resulting in the death of another during a sporting event.
  • Manufacture of explosive devices for the purpose of illegally supplying organizations with the occasion of a sporting event.
  • Ethical authorship in the manufacture of explosive and incendiary materials that may cause danger to a person on the occasion of a sporting event
  • Blackmail by threatening to damage another’s business by complicity during a sporting event.
  • Robbery by accomplice and serial with a sports background.
  • Distinctive violence against employees who were in serious danger.
  • Arson from which a common danger to foreign objects may arise during a sporting event.
    Disturbing the public peace during a sporting event.
    Damage to foreign property during a sporting event.
  • Dangerous bodily harm against employees and non-employees.
  • Violence against another during a sporting event.
  • Possession of objects that can cause bodily harm during a sporting event.
  • Possession of flares and firecrackers during a sporting event.
  • Possession of objects capable of causing bodily harm.
  • Theft by complicity.
  • Illegal gun possession.
  • illegal carrying of weapons.
  • Follow-up weapon use
  • Illegal possession of firecrackers.
  • Supply possession of drugs.

The case file concerns approximately 160 people, while 67 have been arrested. Of the 160, 15 are minors out of 160, while of those arrested 1. It is noted that seven people are also accused of violating the drug law, but this part will be separated.

Another seven are involved in drug trafficking without being involved in crime and 3 of them have been arrested. The 14 who have drugs will plead those charges to a narcotics investigator.

In addition, the father of an arrested person is referred to the Autonomous Single-Member Misdemeanor Court.
