A total of 67 people were arrested yesterday during the large police operation carried out for the deadly attack with a naval flare against the 31-year-old MAT police officer, Giorgos Lyggeridis, on December 7, 2023 in Rentis.
According to police sources, the 63 are accused of being part of a criminal group, while the remaining four were arrested as fireworks and drugs were found in their possession during the checks carried out yesterday in houses and vehicles as part of the operation.
The 67 arrested were taken this morning to the courts of the former Evelpidon school where the Criminal Prosecution Prosecutor, after studying the voluminous case file, formed by the police authorities after an extensive investigation, will decide on the charges and the offenses to be charged.
