Compensations amounting to 38.5 million euros will be paid today to 6,412 beneficiaries in the Peloponnese Regional Unit and some other regions of the country by the ELGA.
“THE government with absolute consistency implements its commitments to those affected. The payoff of the findings, thanks to the intensive efforts of the management and its employees ELGAis carried out on time and in any case earlier than its commitment Governments have been paid compensations in their entirety, for each affected area, until June 30, 2024″ the Minister of Rural Development and Food said in his statement, Lefteris Avgenakis and he added “we continue to be on the side of our farmers and intensify the effort to reconstruct the areas affected by natural disasters”.
The compensations concern the damage caused by the extreme weather phenomenon “Daniel” in the Peloponnese last September. The highest amount of compensation is paid to the Regional Unit of Corinthia, and amounts to 33.7 million euros due to the heaviest damage suffered by the vineyards of the region.
