The Minister of Rural Development and Food, Lefteris Avgenakis, after cooperation with the president of ELGA, Andreas T. Lykourenzo, decided the payment of findings for the damages caused by the extreme weather phenomenon “Daniel” in the Peloponnese.
The compensations, amounting to 38.5 million euros payable today, Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. and concern 6,412 beneficiaries in P.E. of the Peloponnese and some other regions of the country.
The higher compensation amount is paid to P.E. of Corinth, amounting to 33.7 million euros, due to the heavy blow suffered by the vines from the extreme weather phenomenon “Daniel” last September.
As stated by the Ministry of Anti-Corruption, Lefteris Avgenakis, “the government is absolutely consistently implementing its commitments to the affected. The payment of the findings, thanks to the intensive efforts of the ELGA administration and employees, is carried out on time and in any case earlier than the commitment of the Government that the compensations have been paid in full, for each affected area, by June 30, 2024. We continue to be on the side of our farmers and intensify the effort to reconstruct the areas affected by the disasters”.
