Weather: African dust today across the country

--

The episode of transport of African dust to our country is in progress, which is expected to peak today, Tuesday (23/4).

According to the prognostic data of meteo.gr / National Observatory of Athens, today Tuesday 23/4, in addition to the greatly increased concentrations of dust that will limit visibility, mud rains are expected to occur mainly in the north and west of the country. On Wednesday 24/4 the turn of the winds to the west will result in the limitation of dust in the Dodecanese and its progressive removal towards the east.

According to the Open meteorologist, Klearchos Marousakis, there will be a change in weather conditions with a low barometric pressure coming from Africa and bringing from the east very warm air masses and concentrations of African dust without, of course, the absence of mud rains.

Winds will be strong at 7-8 Beaufort on the seas.

In Attica the temperature will range from 11 to 24 degrees Celsius and the winds will blow up to 6 Beaufort. Already from the morning hours there are mud showers.

In Thessaloniki, the muddy rains will start in the afternoon while the temperature will be at normal levels for the season.

On Tuesday, April 23, there will be even more rain with some storms, while from Wednesday the bad weather will leave.

The atmosphere will clear from Thursday and from the weekend we will see warmer and more normal temperatures.

As for the weather during the Easter period, the weather conditions during Holy Week will be unsettled while it is possible that Holy Saturday and Sunday will see a wave of bad weather with rain and the temperature will drop to normal for the season.
