After the murder of Giorgos Lyggeridis in Rentis, some of the defendants were heard saying that they had achieved their goal, which was the death of a police officer.
EL.AS has made arrests. during the large police operation carried out by the Directorate for Combating Violence in Sports Venues, in collaboration with other agencies, in the context of the investigations into the murderous attack of December 7, 2023, with the victim of the MAT police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis in the area of Rentis.
The people involved in this criminal organization, and they are more than 150. There have been 60 arrests and the people are detained in GADA.
“Some evidence had to be analyzed, so that the involvement of some in more than one category emerged. Many of them are marked. But now they have a problem, because the charge is for a criminal organization”, said Giorgos Kalliakmanis, speaking to ANT1 and the show “Kalimera Ellada” about the dozens of arrests for the murder of Giorgos Lyggeridis in Rentis.
As he said, “around 60 people were leaders and deputy leaders. And the terrible thing is that, after the murder, they can be heard saying: we have achieved our goal, we have a dead policeman.”
The president of the Police Officers of South-Eastern Attica believes that, “some people take advantage of these children to do other jobs. We see these kids with the aggression doing hookups and drug dealing.”
And when asked why these cases are not closed, he answered that, “maybe there was a phobia, in knowing that ‘we won’t get there’.” Businessmen support parties, businessmen have nothing to do with it, some actors take advantage of these children to do their jobs” and he concluded that, “we have to escape that we will reach persons who are high, we will not get there, it is some others who take advantage”.
