Lygerida murder: “Suspicious” money in accounts of relatives of those arrested

The developments in the case of Rentis after the arrests of more than 60 suspects for the murder of Lyggeridis are rapid.

According to what the union police officer Stavros Balaskas reported to SKAI: “money was found in the accounts of relatives of those arrested that cannot be justified”.

“I can’t understand all this, I didn’t catch the flare, I’m not involved…” are the first words of the manager to his people just a few hours before he was brought before the justice. Up to this time he insists on his innocence and denies the accusations, however, according to information, the police attribute to him the role of the moral author of the murder of Giorgos Lyggeridis in Rentis.

The role emerges from 4 months of thorough investigation by the men of the sports violence sub-directorate who seem to have conversations and persuasions in their hands.

The manager of a well-known trapper with the initials M.H. accused of moral turpitude, has been a concern of the authorities since 2011. That was the first time he was arrested along with two other people as they had unnecessarily beaten a man in Ilion.

From then until today, the police have dealt with him dozens of times, either as a perpetrator or as a victim. A few years ago, unknown persons had placed an incendiary device at the entrance of his house and had also burned his car. Also in the past he has been detected by the security to be in possession of a flashgun which had been converted for bullets and he has also been the protagonist in a chase in the center of Athens that ended up in Kifissos with him getting out of the vehicle where 5 others were riding people and run away. The people involved had thrown a knife and a mobile phone from the window of the car before being immobilized by the Extortion men.

Information also states that he was also the instigator of incidents inside sports venues in the province, while his name is also present in the bloody attack with repeated stabbings against an organized Panathinaikos fan in Tritsis Park in 2019.
