The prosecutor’s threshold was crossed this morning by those arrested for the incidents in Rentis that fell into the hands of the Greek Police after the targeted police operation that began on Sunday night by the Sub-Directorate for Combating Violence in Sports Venues in collaboration with other services of the Greek Police. The case file for the creation of a criminal organization will be submitted to the public prosecutor, while charges of moral complicity in the fatal wounding of 31-year-old police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis are also expected to be brought.
The die-hard core of fans was arrested

Some of those arrested admitted that what they wanted to achieve in Rentis were incidents with police officers.

At the same time, among those arrested there is also a person who belongs to the leadership group and during his arrest more than 5,000 euros were found with the police stating that this amount can only be justified as money he had collected to leave Greece, as he had been informed that the Police investigations are at the final stage to locate him.

According to the report, some of them described the organization that existed before the incidents. They said that they started from Piraeus where they put the munitions of war in the cars and that they started a procession passing through Kifissos. When they arrived at Rentis they parked their vehicles in the parking lot and entered the stadium.
Among those arrested is the person who gave the signal for when they should leave the stadium and carry out the attack on the MAT squad. The pre-agreed slogan was “let’s clean them up”.
The policeman’s grandfather and father are shocked
“He always smiled, I raised him since he was a small child, he wanted to be a policeman. He wanted it, from within. He said the best things about his platoon, about the policemen, because he wanted to,” said Giorgos Lyggeridis’ grandfather to ANT1.
The grandfather of the 31-year-old police officer who lost his life so unjustly, also said: “May God grant, they will all be caught. Catch them all. We have lost our boy, a great pain that cannot be healed. A big wound that opens and doesn’t close.”
With obvious emotion Athanasios Lyggeridis, father of the policeman said: “I lost a son, a hero, but I gained another family, his platoon. All the guys back there who pulled what they pulled with my son.”
The father of Giorgos Lyggeridis also said: “They burn, they break, they ravage, they kill, what is the punishment? Let my son be the mound for a new beginning.”
