Today, the Book Walk is organized throughout Greece in public and municipal libraries, bookshops and publishing houses, with the aim not only to create new ones, but also to mobilize old readers, and to bring them all together to the bookshops and libraries where they live and breathe the book.
The ambition is for the celebration of the book to be a springboard for new actions and opportunities to highlight reading, to function as a unique vehicle for learning, entertainment and personal progress, through which the much-needed cause of education and culture, which are overlooked these days, will be promoted us like never before.

“A rose for love, a book forever”
The book has its honor today. In Catalonia, the Day of Books and Roses is celebrated on April 23, a local variation of Valentine’s Day, which is combined with the feast of the region’s patron saint, Saint George. “Discovering (s) the archives of the Library of the Parliament” is the title of the action that will be implemented by the Department of Parliamentary Archives of the Library of the Hellenic Parliament. The participants of the activity will get to know the archives and the history of the Parliament, they will be informed about the stages of management and the ways of their utilization and at the same time they will tour the maintenance and digitization laboratories.

“Charter, Riga and his era” is the title of the activity of the Parliamentary Library Department of the Library of the Parliament. Riddles about Athens with a book
Event Saturday 27 Apr 10:30 – 12:15. With reference point the edition of PIOP Riddles for Athens, by Tonia Kafetzakis illustrated by Panagiotis Pantazis, the author proposes to the readers-walkers of the historical center a route with stops at architectural landmarks, historical buildings and places, revealing forgotten stories and secrets of the city .
The walk will start from the Stoa Spiromiliou and the MUSEUMSHOP of PIOP, heading towards the heart of the historical center, Plaka.
