Those arrested for the incidents in Rentis who fell into the hands of EL.AS after the targeted police operation launched on Sunday night by the Sub-Directorate for Combating Violence in Sports Venues in collaboration with other services of EL.AS, cross the prosecutor’s doorstep today.
The case file for the creation of a criminal organization will be submitted to the public prosecutor, while charges of moral complicity in the fatal wounding of 31-year-old police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis are also expected to be brought.

According to OPEN’s report, during the large targeted police operation that began on Sunday night by the Sub-Directorate for Combating Violence in Sports Venues in collaboration with other services of the Hellenic Sports Authority, the police handcuffed the leading group that organized and executed the plan that led to the death of the police officer.

Some of those arrested admitted that what they wanted to achieve in Rentis were incidents with police officers.

At the same time, among those arrested there is also a person who belongs to the leadership group and during his arrest more than 5,000 euros were found with the police stating that this amount can only be justified as money he had collected to leave Greece, as he had been informed that the Police investigations are at the final stage to locate him.

According to the report, some of them described the organization that existed before the incidents. They said that they started from Piraeus where they put the munitions of war in the cars and that they started a procession passing through Kifissos. When they arrived at Rentis they parked their vehicles in the parking lot and entered the stadium.
