The movie “Dune: Part Two” continues to “break the box office” and is now approaching 700 million dollars at the global box office.
Director Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic has grossed $276 million in North America and $419 million overseas, bringing its global tally to $695.8 million after eight weeks in release.
In the post-covid-19 era, five films in 2023, eight in 2022 and five in 2021 managed to break the $700 million mark. Villeneuve’s first film Dune, which was released in 2021, had grossed $431 million worldwide.
‘Dune 2’ is the highest grossing film of 2024 at the domestic and global box office. Besides the US and Canada, the biggest markets are the UK ($48.8 million), China ($48.5 million), France ($42.6 million), Germany ($39.7 million dollars) and Australia ($22.5 million).
