The U_TH FESTIVALthe biggest Festival of Teenage Theater Groups in Greece, which organizes from 2022 theater company insteadusereturns for third year and stronger than ever in Thessaloniki, from April 22 to 28 in Warehouse D’ in the Port (parallel actions) and at Theater AVLAIA (representations)!
The U_TH FESTIVAL is a unique institution that, until today, has given the opportunity to 40 teenage theater groups and 650 anxious young age 12-17 years old to share a special experience, through which is created a platform of free expression, is formed a dynamic cultural community and is strengthened the dialogue between young artists. The performances of U_TH FESTIVAL have been attended by more than 10,000 viewerswhich makes the Festival one of the most important cultural events of Thessaloniki.
This year, U_TH FESTIVAL returns with 17 teams and above 200 teenage artistswith one diverse program which includes performances of classical and contemporary works of the Greek and international repertoire, as well as presentations of new works created by the participating groups. At the same time, as part of the U_TH FESTIVAL, a series of parallel actions (seminars, workshops, film screenings and talks) on issues affecting teenagers today.

Performance: “Dream 10”, a collective project based on texts by Zacharias Spanos and the music teaching team of Olympia Papas.
Short description: “What do you want to do when you grow up?” A musical theater performance with children of different ages that talks about our need to dream collectively, dreams that we can share with others.

Performance: “The recipe of friendship”, collective work – theater of invention in acting teaching and dramaturgy edited by Constantias Zacharopoulos.
Short description: What is the magic recipe for friendship relationship? A synthesis of group members’ individual experiences and stories on the topic of friendship.

Short description: Can adults feel the troubled spring that teenagers experience? Group members share thoughts, feelings, and concerns about things that adults think concern them.

Short description: A parody of the popular and timeless Shakespeare play.

Performance: “Hamlet” by William Shakespeare, adapted/directed by Nikolas Maragopoulos.
Short description: Like Hamlet, every teenager questions everything, he wants to tear down the old world and build a new one, where he will be accepted for what He Is and not for what He Seems.
Performance duration: 60 minutes
This year’s U_TH FESTIVAL is held in collaboration with Municipality of Thessalonikiwho has granted the theater company insteaduse of Warehouse D at the Port for the organization of the parallel activities of the Festival, the program of which will be announced soon.
