G. Lambropoulos: “Everything that Kyparissia has judged until today, it will judge…”

Trying to… smooth the ground of the protests of organizations and citizens in Trifylia for what is provided for in the judicial map, and after communicating with the competent Minister of Justice, the Member of Parliament for Messinia, G. Lambropoulos, points out in his announcement that “what he judged until today, Kyparissia will judge”.

He notes in detail in a relevant press release: “In a telephone conversation I had yesterday (the day before yesterday) with the Minister of Justice, George Floridis, about the Ministry’s Draft Law, with the title “Unification of the First Degree of Jurisdiction, Spatial Restructuring of the Courts of Civil and Criminal Justice…”, he assured me of the following:

The Court of First Instance of Messinia is designated as the central seat and the Prosecutor’s Office of First Instance of Messinia, with headquarters in Kalamata. Kyparissia is defined as the parallel seat of the Court of First Instance of Messinia (Article 6). The central and parallel seats of the Courts of First Instance retain full substantive jurisdiction (Article 5).

The minister also added: Everything Cyparissia has tried until now remains as it is. The organic positions of the employees remain there. Citizens and lawyers will not have any burden – traveling to Kalamata for any case.

The above confirms what I announced on 12/18/2023, after the meeting at the Ministry of Justice with Minister Giorgos Floridis and Deputy Minister Yiannis Bougas. At that time, I had also received an explicit assurance, which I also communicated, not to abolish, but to upgrade the Kalamata Court of Appeal.

The purpose of the draft law of the Ministry of Justice, which is submitted to the Parliament, is to upgrade the quality and speed of the administration of Justice, with the most rational use of human potential.”
