The medical file of 8-year-old Kaisariani Piripitsi, who “died” last Saturday in the Pediatric Department of the Makarios Hospital, is being requested by the lawyer representing the bereaved family of the unfortunate child, after the complaint submitted to the authorities for possible medical negligence.
In a statement, the legal advisor Ioannis Generalis states that the 8-year-old girl died “unjustly and unexpectedly” in the specific hospital where she was being treated with acute kidney failure and that he has already taken the necessary steps to receive and study the 8-year-old’s medical file.

“We represent the parents of 8-year-old Kaisariani Piripitsi who died unjustly and unexpectedly on 04/20/2024 in the Pediatric Department of Makarios Hospital, where she was being treated for acute kidney failure.
The unfortunate Kaisariani was repeatedly hospitalized at the Makarios Hospital, where the parents report that she received medical care. On 04/21/2024, the mother filed a relevant complaint with the Lakatamia Police Station, which is investigating the case, and requested that an autopsy be performed.
Pending the results of the autopsy we have taken the necessary steps to receive and study the medical file by a team of specialist doctors, and we are considering the possibility of medical negligence.
Out of respect for the unspeakable pain of the parents and the investigative work of the Police, we will not be making any further statements at this time.
