“We want the price of lamb to be 10 euros or even lower, per kilo, in the Easter basket,” stressed Kostas Skrekas, speaking on Action 24’s “Behind the Lines” show, on Monday night (22/4).

“Our goal is for the basic products, which are lamb and goat, to have much more affordable prices during these Easter days. We want to have the same price or even lower if possible compared to last year. There are products for every need,” added the Minister of Development.

Mr. Skrekas noted that on Monday (22/4) the “godfather’s basket” started, while on Wednesday (24/4) the basket for the Easter table takes its turn, where this year “we are adding lambs, Easter eggs, buns, etc. a.”, said the minister.

Mr. Skrekas stated that the accuracy persists, but the government continues the effort with controls and fines. “Greece will not become an unripe vine, we do not hesitate”, said the minister and added that 40,000 checks have been carried out on the part of the state to date.

Furthermore, Mr. Skrekas, speaking about accuracy, argued that “inflation is slowly approaching the European average”.
