Criminal organization with 158 memberswhich has been operating since 2019, is behind the murder of the MAT police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis. According to his statement Chief of Police Dimitris Malliou, 60 arrests have already been made while the defendants are alleged to have committed felonies and misdemeanors in addition to Attica, Volos and Ioannina.
The investigation by the authorities concerns both the case of the murder of the young policeman outside the stadium in Rentis and other incidents of fan incidents.
In particular, information indicates that some of the incidents in which some of those arrested are allegedly involved relate to the incidents that took place at the beginning of December in the Volos-Olympiacos match, to those that took place during the recent match between Olympiacos and Aris as well as to those that happened last December in Ioannina in the match between Olympiakos and the local team.
The assurance that justice will be served, as provided by the Republic and our Constitution in the case of Giorgos Lyggeridis, was given by Minister of Citizen Protection Michalis Chrysochoidis.
Speaking at the POASY conference, after the arrests made for the murder of the policeman, Mr. Chrysochoidis emphasized that mourning should be turned into action “both for the one who “left” and for those who remain behind. We must review the entire legal regime around the protection of victims of violence and terrorism.”
