The arrest of one of the hooligans, who are accused of participating in a criminal organization, related to the murder with a flare of the 31-year-old policeman, Giorgos Lyggeridis, during incidents outside the “Melina Merkouri” stadium, in Rentis, was particularly episodic.
According to ANT1, in the early hours of Monday (22/4) Security police officers went to Nice to handcuff a 22-year-old man, who was also brought in last December, right after the incidents. The arrested person is one of the first 60 people arrested and accused, among other things, of participating in a criminal organization.

However, as soon as the policemen arrived at the door of his house, the young man opened it and attacked with the glock he was holding, hitting a policeman. The young man then closed the door and locked it. The police blocked all possible exits and entered his house and arrested him. After an investigation, they also found the glop, which the young man had managed to hide.
Wanting to justify the attack on the police, the arrested said that he has equipped his house with cameras, and when he saw them outside his house, he thought they were robbers and that is why he attacked them.
The policeman who was hit by the gloop suffered minor injuries and has been taken to the 401 Military Hospital.
