The battle for the price of ovelia has begun and butchers say they are trying to keep it at last year’s levels, averaging 14 euros/kg.

“We hope it will not exceed 14 euros, but we are surprised by the low prices below cost in some points of sale,” said Vassilis Delifilippidis, press representative of the Butchers’ Association of Attica.

As the butchers explain, lambs and goats are sold by the breeder for 8 euros per kilo and with the extra one euro which is the price of the slaughterhouse, the butchers buy from traders for 10 euros per kilo, to sell to consumers for 14 euros per less.

The price hikes in fruit are bringing households to their knees

The increases in fruit prices are what, in the first two months of Spring, put a fire in consumers’ pockets.

From INKA’s pricing, it follows that, at a festive table for 6 to 8 people, the products that will accompany the arrow this year will be more expensive. Some of these are fruits, sweets, alcoholic beverages such as wine and beer and soft drinks.

The “godfather’s basket” with candles, toys and chocolate eggs is already being implemented in large toy stores, while from the e-katanalotis online platform, godparents can make price comparisons between the stores that implement it.

From next Thursday, the festive opening hours of commercial stores will also be applied, which will remain open on Sunday, April 28, while they will remain closed on the Tuesday after Easter due to the postponement of May Day.
