And another distributor’s work accident in Preveza

The Workers-Unemployed Coordination Assembly of Preveza reports a new industrial accident with a distributor, in Preveza, who broke his leg at work.

In fact, the worker was transferred to the Preveza hospital and from there to Lefkada, because there was no orthopedic surgeon in Preveza.

A few days ago, a distributor had lost his life in the area of ​​Akti.

“The intensification of work (in these cases the orders should go anywhere and in any way), the insufficient security measures, the dissolution – absence of control mechanisms, the absence and non-implementation of collective labor agreements, the lack of labor union organization in the sector of food but also the complete absence of the official trade union movement from the workplaces go hand in hand with the degradation and privatization of public health” states the Coordination.

It asks, among other things, to ban distribution by bicycle in dangerous weather conditions and to define the mileage and range of distribution, to take measures for safety in the workplaces and to increase the controls of the competent services.
