The death of the infant in Kos has shocked the whole of Greece. At the same time, the parents of the infant received a deadline to apologize on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old mother and 20-year-old father are accused of exposure of a minor to danger and bodily harm, according to kosnews24.gr.
Regarding the injuries sustained by the infant, parents claimed they were either from blows inflicted on him by his 2-year-old brother or from some other accident
The father of the infant has been arrested several times in the past and accused of aggravated theft, robbery, rape, child pornography and drugs.
According to the medical examiner, the infant died from suffocation that came after swallowing food. The baby was taken unconscious on Saturday afternoon to the hospital in Kos, with signs that suggested sexual abuse, with bruises and abrasions in various parts of his body, a fact that mobilized the doctors and notified the authorities.
According to the coroner, the abrasions on the baby’s body are older, while no sexual abuse is found. It is noted that the second child of the family was also going to be examined by the medical examiner.

The incident happened on Saturday night (20/4), when the parents found the one-year-old girl unconscious. They came out of the house in fear, shouting that something had happened to their child, while a tenant of the apartment building where they lived also rushed to help.
The mother called EKAV and the child was transferred to the Kos Hospital where despite the superhuman efforts of the doctors it was not possible to bring him back.
The findings of the doctors
Doctors determined, according to MEGA, that something was wrong as there was food in his respiratory system resulting in no flow of oxygen.
He also had abrasions, exudations in various parts of his body but also signs that pointed to possible sexual abuse. As reported by ethnos.gr, what led the doctors to the chilling finding is that the anal ring brought relaxation.
Neighbors of the couple, speaking to MEGA, report that they had seen the 20-year-old mother beaten several times, while there are many testimonies of fights between the couple.
“Her husband, the husband, was abusing her. We had seen her in the neighborhood a few times to bear some bruises herselfsigns which he did not justify”, said an eyewitness.
“I had a fuss, I had seen the girl beaten many times. Now, whether he hit her or didn’t hit her, I don’t know. I didn’t see them together all the time. I saw more of the girl,” said a neighbor of the couple.
The 21-year-old father and mother of the unfortunate infant are accused of exposure of a minor which resulted in the death.
Was there child pornography material?
The element that alarmed the Authorities is that the father of the infant has been charged and arrested in the past for pornography. For this reason the Authorities did “leaf and feather” the father’s cell phone and computer.
The investigation so far, according to the MEGA report, has shown that his mobile phone was found child pornography search traces.
