Easter days are approaching with chocolate products having – as usual – their due. However, consumers will need to pay more compared to last year, due to precision but also an increase in the price of cocoa and cocoa mass by 45-50%.
Confectioner Michalis Tsatsoulis spoke to ERT about the price levels of chocolate eggs, candies and buns. Increases are expected in all preparations.
“We have tried to absorb as much as possible the price increases of chocolate, it is very difficult, due to the fact that cocoa, cocoa mass, etc. have increased in 45% with 50% than last year. Nevertheless, we have made an increase 1 to 2 euros per kilo in chocolate products. An egg in 600 grams of chocolate and we sell it packaged with decoration at 20 euros. The chocolate candies in 10 euros. The bunnies and bunnies that last year were at 12 euros this year are at 15 euros», write down.
“Chocolate buns are expensive 16.5 euros the piece, while the simple buns at 8.90 euros one, is at 750 grams, with a tear of mastic and Greek butter. We try to keep the quality but also the price as much as possible at normal levels”added Mr. Tsatsoulis.
