A major police operation by the Hellenic Police has been underway since the early hours of Monday (22/04). for the identification and arrest of supporters allegedly involved in the murder of Giorgos Lyggeridis in Rentis. According to publications, after warrants issued by the investigator, EL.AS. proceeded to arraignment and arrest of persons involved in the incident.
It is recalled that the 31-year-old police officer George Lyggeridiswho was seriously injured by a naval flare during the incidents that took place outside the “Melina Merkouri” stadium in Rentis, succumbed to his injuries on December 27, in the ICU of the General State Hospital of Nice, where he was being treated.
The doctors had proceeded to amputate his leg, which was hit by the naval flare.
