A major police operation has been underway since Sunday evening by the Sub-Directorate for Combating Violence in Sports Venues in collaboration with other services of the Hellenic Police, following the investigation into the murderous attack with a naval flare against the 31-year-old MAT police officer on December 7 2023 in Rentis, as broadcast by ERT.
The unfortunate policeman died after a 20-day battle in the ICU of the General State of Nice.
According to information, searches have been carried out in dozens of houses, but also in places related to people involved in the fan movement.
So far, at least 50 arrests and arrests have been made, as well as a large number of house and vehicle searches, and various items of evidence have been seized while the operation is ongoing after the completion of the criminal case.
Those arrested are expected to be brought before the prosecutor to be charged.
The 31-year-old police officer died on December 27, after a 20-day long battle, after being seriously injured by a naval flare during incidents that took place outside the “Melina Merkouri” stadium in Rentis. during the “eternal” derby, Olympiacos – Panathinaikos.
