In dozens hooligan admissions the police have made progress in the last few hours, as part of the investigation that began at the end of last year for the murder of the policeman Giorgos Lyggeridis from throwing naval flare out of court in Renti.

According to information, the large police operation has been underway since Sunday evening by the Sub-Directorate for Combating Violence in Sports Venues in collaboration with other services of the Hellenic Police.

Police officers they raided houses in the region of Western Attica, while as reported by police sources, so far they have been carried out at least 50 arrests and arrests.

The aim of the sub-directorate dealing with sports violence was the identification of the moral perpetrators in the case of the murder of the 31-year-old MAT police officer.

For his death an 18-year-old has already been arrested and remanded in custody. The young man had admitted that had fired a naval flare in the direction of the policeman.

The 31-year-old police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis passed away on December 27, after a tough battle that lasted 20 days in the hospital, after being seriously injured by a naval flare which he had received during of incidents that took place outside the “Melina Merkouri” stadium in Rentis during a volleyball match between Olympiakos and Panathinaikos.
