Arrests of people involved with the fan movement were carried out by EL.AS., in the context of a large police operation for the murder of the MAT police officer, Giorgos Lyggeridis, in December outside the closed Rentis!

The investigation is progressing in Athens and Piraeus and in the sights of EL.AS. there are at least 50 organized fans, mainly of Olympiakos. Arrests and arrests have been made so far, with the operation expected to wrap up this afternoon.

Giorgos Lyggeridis passed away on December 27, after a tough battle that he fought for 20 days, following his serious injury. The 31-year-old had received a naval flare in the incidents that took place outside the closed Rentis, during the “eternal” derby, Olympiacos-Panathinaikos, for the League Cup in volleyball.

A few days ago there was a rumor that the file on the case had been closed with the 18-year-old who threw the flare being the only accused, however this was denied. Sources stated that the investigator proceeded with this procedural action, in order not to pass time and release the 18-year-old for 18 months, without his trial, as the investigation to reveal the instigators and moral perpetrators is pending.
