With the participation of thousands of people, rallies and demonstrations against anti-Semitism took place in France today, Sunday, which, as French President Emmanuel Macron said in his announcement yesterday, is on the rise in French territory after the attack by Hamas against Israel.

In Paris, the leaders of the French National Assembly and the French Senate, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, the former presidents of the Republic Francois Hollande and Nicolas Sarkozy as well as many MPs and ministers led the demonstration. President Macron was not present because, as he said, he does not participate in protests, but he emphasized in a written statement that his mind and heart are with the protesters.

The only party that did not take part in the Paris rally was Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s Insubordinate France, protesting, it said, the presence of far-right parties and in particular Marine Le Pen, who was present at the demonstration, but not with the leaders . Also present were the leaders of the Socialists, the Communist party and the Environmentalists with whom Insubordinate France went down together in the 2022 parliamentary elections.
