The film “Animal” by Sofia Exarchou won the Golden Alexander at the 64th Thessaloniki Film Festival.
Silver Alexander went to her movie Joanna Arnow “The Feeling That It’s Past Time to Do Something”.
It is the first time after many years that a Greek film wins the first prize in the International Competition section and perhaps the first time where two women win the top prizes.
It is recalled that for the first time the awards outside the closing ceremony.
THE Kostas Koroneios won the male performance award for “The Last Taxi Driver” by Stergios Paschos, while the female performance award was shared by Dimitra Vlagkopoulou for “Animal” and Joanna Arnow for “The Feeling that Time Has Passed” directed by herself.
Regarding other awards:
* “Anthropomorphic Vampire Seeks Suicidal Man” by Ariane Louis-Sez won the audience award in the international competition.
* “Ston Fako” by Nakas Kalinda won the FIPRESCI award
* Eva Nathena for “Fonissa” won the Hellenic Film Center’s award for first-time director, as well as the ERT award.
* Lois Patinho’s Samsara won the Film Forward competition section.
