A 29-year-old woman from Brazil died after a botched liposuction procedure on her knee.
As reported by the Daily Mail, influencer Luana Andrade was transferred to São Luiz Hospital in São Paulo on Monday to undergo the operation performed by a private surgeon and anaesthesiologist, however she experienced breathing problems and suffered a cardiac arrest two hours later.
He suffered a pulmonary embolism
The surgeons interrupted the procedure and performed tests on the 29-year-old, which showed that he had suffered a blood clot.
He was then transferred to the ICU, but he died shortly afterwards. Andrade’s official cause of death is a pulmonary embolism.
The influencer rose to fame from her participation in the reality show “Power Couple Brasil 6” in 2022 with her businessman boyfriend João Hadad.
She modeled herself and had launched her own clothing line.
Andrade had more than 540,000 followers and five days before her death, she uploaded moments from 2023 with the caption: “It’s not even over yet, and I feel so grateful for this time.”
