The much-discussed measures of the Thessaloniki Traffic Directorate in Regional Roadin view of her commencement of work on the Fly Overthey start today and drivers must arm themselves with patience to move from west to east.
But they must also know them temporary traffic arrangementswhich are valid in order to start in the Regional the first lineswhich are necessary to start the work on the construction of the Fly Over.
As mentioned in related Traffic announcementfrom this morning they will be implemented gradually temporary traffic arrangements on the eastern Inner Ring Road between Interchanges K5 (Papageorgiou hospital area) and K10 (Konstantinopolitika), in the traffic flow to the east (toward Kalamaria – Airport), namely:
– Traffic will be phased out of all vehicles in the right traffic lane of the Internal Ring Road of Thessaloniki, in the eastbound flow, between the above-mentioned Uneven Junctions.
– Vehicle traffic on the Internal Ring Road of Thessaloniki, eastbound, will be conducted from the two free left lanes circulation of the same course current.
The new speed limit is 60 km/h
Information indicates that until Sunday, November 12, delineations will be made from A/K K5 at the height of the Papageorgiou hospital to A/K K6 at the height of the Neapolis junction. From Monday, the delineation works will proceed gradually section by section, while, as the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport has announced, Nikos Tahiaosconstruction sites will get busy from next week.
Thessaloniki Traffic recommends to drivers who move on the Regional to be especially careful, to comply with the signs to avoid traffic accidents and traffic jams, while at the same time asking for the understanding and cooperation of the citizens.
