Zontes at EICMA presented the scooters ZT501-E, ZT501-G ADV, ZT501-H, ZT501-K which are equipped with the 491 cc single cylinder engine as well as the new ZT-125 D which is its second model in that category.
The Chinese company has decided to add four new scooter models using as a base the Euro 5 single-cylinder engine of 491 cubic centimeters with an output of 46.9 hp at 7,500 rpm. with the torque being at 5.4 kgm at 5,500 rpm. The ZT501-G ADV which is the first adventure scooter of Zontes follows to the letter the philosophy of Honda’s ADV 350, but with a bigger and more powerful engine. In the front part between the headlight we find the Zontes dash-cam with the visor located above the headlight being adjustable. The hi-tech image is completed by the color TFT screen which has all the necessary indications. In order to emphasize the adventure image more, there are protective bars which have bases for placing the round headlights. At the back of the new scooter in addition to the camera located between the headlights, there is a huge exhaust which is most logical to be replaced at the first opportunity by the user of the vehicle as it will weigh a considerable amount – Zontes does not mention in the technical weight characteristics. The ZT501-G ADV uses a telescopic front fork and two adjustable rear shocks. In terms of braking, there are two disc brakes at the front and one at the back, while the brake package complements the ABS. The wheels are 17-inch front and 15-inch rear with dimensions 120/70 front and 160/60 rear.
The second new Zontes scooter named ZT501-H uses the Euro 5 single-cylinder engine of 491 cubic centimeters producing 46.9 hp at 7,500 rpm. with the torque being at 5.4 kgm at 5,500 rpm. In terms of design, this model follows aggressive lines similar to those of the ZT501-G ADV, but here it follows a more modest approach. In the front part we find two boomerang-shaped headlights with the jelly that is right above them being fixed. The mirrors are also mounted on the windshield, which also house the flashers. Under the steering wheel, the user has at his disposal two glove boxes for small items, while at the back of the scooter there is the same exhaust as that of the ZT501-G ADV. In the front suspension we find a telescopic fork while at the back we have two adjustable shock absorbers. In terms of braking, there are two disc brakes at the front and one at the back, while the brake package complements the ABS. The wheels on are ZT501-H 15 inch front and 15 inch rear measuring 120/70 front and 160/60 rear.
Next creation for Zontes is the ZT501-K, which also uses the single-cylinder Euro 5 engine of 491 cubic centimeters producing 46.9 hp at 7,500 rpm. with the torque being at 5.4 kgm at 5,500 rpm. Designwise this is different from the ZT501-G ADV and ZT501-H, however it is based on the GT scooter 350E. The curves are what characterize the new model in combination with the large plastic surfaces. Zontes says the saddle height is 770mm. a height that will suit everyone. The latest model in this particular Zontes range is the ZT501-E which is little changed in design from the ZT501-K. No need to guess as this one too uses the 491cc single-cylinder Euro 5 engine producing 46.9bhp at 7,500rpm. with the torque being at 5.4 kgm at 5,500 rpm. The ZT501-E is the big sibling of the 350E in terms of design with the only change being the huge exhaust at the back of the scooter. And in this model, Zontes informs us that the height of the saddle is 770 mm. The ZT501-E’s suspension and braking specifications are identical to those of the ZT501-G ADV, ZT501-H and ZT501-K. In the front suspension we find a telescopic fork while at the back we have two adjustable shock absorbers, the braking system is the same as that of the ZT501-G ADV and ZT501-H i.e. two disc brakes at the front and one at the back while the brake package completes the ABS. But in addition to these four models, Zontes decided after the M125 to expand its range of 125cc scooters by presenting the ZT-125-D at EICMA, which uses the liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine also present in the M125, which delivers 14 .5 hp at 8,250 rpm and 1.3 kgm of torque at 6,500 rpm. In terms of appearance, the Chinese designers decided that this should be as similar as possible to its big brother D350, while it will be available in two colors, one petrol and one black. The ZT-125-D is a GT scooter that has smaller dimensions to be more flexible in the city according to Zontes, while it can also be driven with a car license. At the front there are four LED headlights and “L” shaped DRL daytime running lights which are located on the right and left edges of the headlight. The short lens above the projector is height adjustable while the switches on the two grips are from the D350. Under the steering wheel there are two glove boxes on either side for small items, while as we are used to by Zontes in one of them there will be a double USB port.
In the suspensions we find a telescopic fork at the front while at the back we find two shock absorbers. The wheels are 14 inches with tire dimensions of 100/80 front and 120/70 rear. As far as braking is concerned, we have a front and a rear disc brake which is complemented by a two-channel ABS system. The saddle sits at 748mm. which means that it will also be driven by short riders while according to Zontes the consumption is at 2.1 liters per 100 kilometers.
