With a producer price of 8 euros per kilo, the market for extra virgin olive oil with an acidity of up to 0.3 lines was opened in Messinia in November.
In the rest of Greece, the price varies between 7.10 euros and 8 euros per kilo. On the internet, unlike other years, there is no advertisement for the sale of tins even for a sample, since the reduced production led to pre-agreed sales between relatives and friends. Due to the low production, the olive harvest in most areas of Messinia is expected to be completed before Christmas, while open olive mills will exist after the holidays only in settlements with traditionally late production.
According to the SEDIK Price Bulletin, in Spain the average price of extra virgin olive oil with an acidity of up to 0.8 lines reaches 8.12 euros per kilo, in Italy 8.37 euros per kilo, while in Tunisia it decreased to 6.83 euros per kg. In Spain the price of extra virgin olive oil varies between 7.50 and 8.75 euros per kilo, the average price of virgin olive oil (acidity less than 2 lines) was 6.86 euros per kilo while the lampade price (acidity greater than 2 lines) decreased to 6.23 euros per kilo. In Italy, the price of PDO olive oil ranges from 10 euros per kilo in Pescara to 11 euros in Ragusa.
