With an eye on natural disasters and the development of prevention, preparedness and resilience, Mr Association of Industries of Thessaly and Mainland Greece (SVTHSE) and Hellenic Institute of Health and Safety at Work (ELINYAE) co-organize an event, today, Friday, November 10, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the hall of Chamber of Magnesia in Volos.
As stated in a related announcement, personalities from the scientific, political and business fields will discuss the challenges that emerged after the catastrophic fires and floods, as well as the priorities that need to be set for the fastest recovery and fortification against to corresponding natural phenomena in the future.
The topic will be covered from different approaches by the professor of Dynamic Tectonics Applied Geology and Natural Disaster Management EKPA and president of OASP, Efthymis Lekkas, the Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Christos Triandopoulos, and Miltiadis Gouzouris, CEO of the Dutch company HVA International, which has been entrusted with the preparation of the Masterplan Thessaly, Michalis Chalaris, assistant professor-retd general PS (retd.), director of research on risks, risks, crises and security at the instituted laboratory “Hephaistos”, Dr. Evi Georgiadou and Magdaleni Ilidaki, head of TEAYE Magnesia.
From ELINYAE, the president of the Institute, Rena Bardani, will address a greeting and Dr. Evi Georgiadou, chemical engineer of the Institute, will speak, who will present research data that highlight the training priorities of different groups, such as workers, the general public, civil protection personnel, as well as the possibilities of strengthening resilience against natural and technological disasters, through the institutions and procedures of health and safety at work.
Representatives of important industrial companies, such as Hellenic Dairies, AGET HERACLIS and STERILIZATION SA, will cover good practices and concerns in matters of occupational health and safety in the second panel.
