Applications for the Youth Pass, the 150 euro voucher for 200,000 young people from 18 to 19 years of age, start today, Thursday (09.11.23).
The platform for the Youth Pass was opened on Thursday morning and thus young people will be able to submit their applications either through the digital platform vouchers.gov.gr or through the K.E.P., while the money will have been paid by Sunday, December 10, 2023.
It is noted that the Youth Pass is in the form of a digital debit card, which beneficiaries will be able to use in businesses active in the fields of culture, tourism and transport.
The beneficiaries
Beneficiaries of the Youth Pass are all tax residents of Greece who have reached the age of 18 or 19 within the year preceding the application and submit an application on the platform.
In more detail, for this year’s aid, young people who turned either 18 or 19 from 1.1.2022 to 31.12.2022 have the right to apply. The application is submitted once and is not resubmitted after the beneficiary turns 19.
Therefore, an 18-year-old who applies by 5 December 2023 for the Youth Pass will receive €150 this year and an additional €150 in 2024 without having to apply again. It is noted that, if for any reason, a young person does not submit his application when he is 18, he can do so when he turns 19, of course receiving the aid only for the second year and not retroactively.
The Youth Pass is a permanent support measure for young people. Therefore, from 2024 onwards, the special application will accept the applications of interested parties from April 1st to May 15th of each year. The aid for all beneficiaries will be paid once a year by May 31 of each year.
Step by step how to submit the application
Young people who turned 18 or 19 between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2022 can apply on the vouchers.gov.gr platform.
The application is submitted once and is not resubmitted after the beneficiary turns 19.
The beneficiary’s entry into the special application takes place after authentication of the beneficiary using the taxisnet codes.
After entering the application, the beneficiary enters in the fields displayed in the system the contact details, and in particular the e-mail address and the mobile phone number, of the credit institution he chooses for the issuance of the digital debit card and requests the issuance of the digital debit card and the credit of the relevant amount. Application to KEP
The process of issuing the digital debit card can also be carried out through the KEP, by a certified employee, following a relevant request of the natural person – beneficiary, as well as through an authorized representative, based on the Code of Administrative Procedure.
The KEP employee enters the application after being authenticated using the “Public Administration Codes” of the G.G.P.S.P.S.D. of the Ministry of Digital Governance, according to the decision of the Minister of State under data 29810 EX 2020 (B’ 4798). The employee then enters in the fields displayed in the system:
The Tax Registry Number (TIN) of the natural person,
the contact details of the natural person, in particular the email address and mobile phone number and
the credit institution that the natural person chooses, and requests on behalf of the natural person the issuance of the digital debit card and the crediting of the relevant amount.
How will you get the money?
After submitting the application, the credit institution or financial organization informs the beneficiary about the first activation of the card and the crediting of the amount of money via text message (sms) or e-mail message (e-mail) with an embedded link to activate the card digital debit card.
Where can you use the voucher?
Beneficiaries can make use of the support they will receive for making purchases or receiving services from businesses active in the fields of tourism (e.g. in tourist accommodation), culture (e.g. for attending theater performances or concerts, for the purchase of books, etc.) and transportation (taxi, buses, trains, ferry – plane tickets or for the rental of cars or pleasure boats, etc.)
