Last night, the former President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis, made a surprise with his appearance at SMA23 .
Antonis Remos was the one who closed the magnificent evening, receiving from the hands of Nikos Anastasiadis, the Super icon award for his overall contribution to the song.
The former President of the Republic gladly accepted the invitation, jokingly stating that “The super production of Super FM gave the opportunity to all of us young people to be among so many artists”
Antonis Remos, going up on stage and receiving the award, said about Nikos Anastasiadis:
“It is the greatest joy and honor, an award that the people of Cyprus have been giving me for 30 years, to receive it from the hands of the President. Since once a President, always a President, Mr. Anastasiadis, one of my most beloved politicians, who I hold close to my heart.
I say this because we have known the President for several years and I remember the time when it was the first time you took charge of the fortunes of this place, in the most difficult moments of the place, after years I asked you and I told you well done, how did you manage? Because you made a great struggle as a people to manage to get out of this difficult moment. The conversation you told me I want to share here with the world.
You answered I didn’t make it, we made it! Because if the people of Cyprus didn’t back me up, I wouldn’t be able to do anything.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart, that I can and I take this award from your hands today, that I can and I speak to you in the first person, because I feel you in my heart, a very beloved person and I am happy that today I live at this moment near my friends me from Cyprus, with my friends from Greece and my favorite artists who are all here tonight.
It seems that we in Greece cannot all get together, at the same time, for many years now, but we manage and we met for the first time after many years here in Cyprus. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, good luck, may God be above our heads, may we be healthy and continue and we will continue to produce music, because music is what unites us.”
