The 35-year-old was sentenced by the Three-member Misdemeanor Court of Volos to 12 months in prison, with no suspended sentence, for the incidents that took place in 2017 during the Football Cup Final in Volos, between AEK and PAOK, and the executives of Sub-Directorate for Combating Violence in Sports Venues found him on Thursday morning in Kypseli and arrested him, in order to serve his sentence.
During his presentation to the judicial authorities, the 35-year-old – according to information – admitted that he was present at the sad events outside the stadium of New Philadelphia, when Michalis Katsouris lost his life. He even stated, according to police sources, that he had a knife in his possession, which he lost during the incidents.
In the hands of EL.AS there is a knife, on which DNA of the victim has been found, but also a sample of genetic material, which has not been identified until now. Now the police will take the 35-year-old’s DNA, compare it in forensic laboratories with the unknown’s sample and, if they are identified, then the 35-year-old will be asked to explain the murder of the 27-year-old AEK fan.
