The information about the imminent arrest of a Greek citizen who is involved in the murder of Michalis Katsouris arrived late in the afternoon from a person who is very high in the pyramid of the Ministry of Public Order. According to “Zouglas” information, the DNA of the owner of the knife found at the scene of Michalis Katsouri’s murder has been identified. This is a person known from previous cases to the prosecuting authorities. According to the highest officers of EL.AS. the evidence is enough to lead to his pre-trial detention.
Latest information from “Jungle” states that the person who is expected to be arrested with a warrant is A.D. who is accused of being responsible for fan incidents in the city of Volos. In essence, two different cases concerning the same person are involved. It is also reported competently that this person can be seen in a photograph on the night of the incidents to be next to Michalis Katsouris and, as police sources point out, he was armed with a knife.
What happened in Volos in 2017
In 2017, the cup final between AEK and PAOK was held at the Panthessal Stadium in Volos. Violent incidents took place on the footbridge of the stadium and fans from both sides were arrested. In fact, at least 15 people were taken to the hospital with injuries. That afternoon AD was arrested. A case file was created, the case went to court and he was convicted. The police authorities were therefore mobilized for the arrest of A.D. in order to serve his sentence. Opera and it happened. In particular, he was sentenced to 12 months in prison by the three-member minor court of Volos. The arrested person was brought before the Athens District Attorney who issued an order for his imprisonment in Nafplion prisons.

After the murder of Michalis Katsouris, A.D. he had stated that he was in Philadelphia near the murdered Michalis and that he brought a knife which he lost during the incidents.
In the videos from the security cameras examined by EL.AS. it is clearly seen that the specific AEK fan, A.D., runs next to Michalis Katsouri and at some point collides with him while both were being chased and trying to escape from the hooligans of Dinamo Zagreb and Panathinaikos.
This knife was found by the police authorities with traces of blood. After the laboratory tests, it turned out that this blood belonged to Michalis Katsouri. On the knife was traced dna, apparently, of the owner. At the time of writing, attempts are being made to compare the DNA found on the knife with the DNA of the arrested person.
