Only young people who turned 18 or 19 in 2022 can apply for the €150 Youth Pass from today: The deadline is December 5 and payments are expected to be completed within the first 10 days of next month. The next batch of beneficiaries will not have to wait until next year to claim the aid, as applications from 2024 onwards will start on a fixed date, namely every April Fool’s Day.

Premiere for the Youth Pass with almost 200,000 young people to be entitled to receive the 150 euros with a simple application on the vouchers.gov.gr digital platform. Those who have reached the age of 18 or 19, between 1her January and December 31, 2022.

Applications without income criteria

The Youth Pass he’s got in the form of a digital debit cardwhich beneficiaries will be able to redeem in businesses active in the fields of culture, tourism and transport.

The specific financial aid has a permanent character and those who turn 18 will receive it for two years, that is, they will receive a total of 300 euros from the State.

This year is the first time that young people will have the right to claim the aid, but they will need to submit the relevant applications.

Beneficiaries of the aid of 150 euros are tax residents of Greece, who:

  • have turned 18 or 19 within the year preceding the application and
  • apply to the platform.

Here it should be noted that there are no property or income criteria, in other words all young people who turn 18 can apply, regardless of whether they are from wealthy or “vulnerable” families.

The application is submitted once it is not resubmitted after the completion of the 19th year the age of the beneficiary.

Therefore, an 18-year-old applying for the Youth Pass this year will receive 150 euros this year and an additional 150 euros in 2024 without making a new application.

However, if for any reason, a young person does not apply when they are 18, they can do so when they turn 19, of course receiving the aid only for the second year and not retrospectively.

When will his payments be made? Youth Pass

Young people will be able to submit their applications either through the digital platform vouchers.gov.gr or through the K.E.P. until Tuesday, December 5, while the aids will have been paid by Sunday, December 10, 2023.

From 2024 onwards the special application will accept applications from interested parties from April 1st to May 15th of each year. The aid for all beneficiaries will be paid once a year by May 31 of each year.

After submitting the application, the credit institution or financial institution informs the beneficiary of the first activation of the card and the crediting of the amount of money via text message (sms) or e-mail with an integrated link to activate the digital debit card.

Beneficiaries can then use the aid they will receive to make purchases or receive services from businesses active in the sectors of:

  • tourism (e.g. in tourist accommodation)
  • of culture (e.g. to watch plays or concerts, buy books, etc.)

and of

  • transport (taxi, buses, trains, ferry – plane tickets or for the rental of cars or pleasure boats, etc.).
